Is your last chance to enter a play into the SLAM competition in May. We’re taking the summer off so your next chance isn’t until September… dont wait! Bring whatever you’re working on, wherever it is in the process, and see actors cold-read your work on stage AND get feedback from judges!
You have nothing to lose and everything to gain—if you make it to the finals next week you could win an evening in the Tank’s theatre space to produce your play, plus some cash to pay your actors. All the profit from SLAM in May goes towards co-producing the winning play (co producers being you+the Tank).

The Tank, our home, is right off this corner. Love.
SLAM is a live theatre game where playwrights face off in a 5-minute battle-of-the-plays. Playwrights show new work within a timed setting and are judged by industry professionals and their peers. The winner's prize: a free evening in the Tank’s theatre space. The competition is four weeks long--three weeks of round one and a final week for round two. See The Rules section for more information on how to play. Week 5 will showcase the winner of the previous month's SLAM Champion. SLAM takes place on Sundays at 7 pm, downstairs at the Tank Theatre, 354 West 45th St. at 9th Ave. Weeks 1-4 are $5 (no one turned away). Week 5, The reading in the space is FREE to attend.
